Just days after revealing the release date, Netflix has given fans of The Bridgerton Chronicles the perfect Christmas gift with the first set of photos from Season 3. Among them are the main characters of the series, especially Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), the couple at the heart of this third chapter.
The images also reveal the new actress who will portray Francesca Bridgerton. For the first two seasons, Tom’s third daughter was played by Ruby Stokes. From now on, Hannah Dodd will assume the role.
In addition to the first photos, the platform announced the official synopsis for season 3: “Penelope has finally moved on from longtime love Colin after hearing his disparaging comments on her last season. However, she decided it was time to get a husband, preferably one that would offer her enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, away from her mother and sisters. But due to a lack of trust, Penelope’s attempts at the marriage market failed spectacularly.
Meanwhile, Colin returns from his summer trip with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But to his dismay, he realizes that Penelope, the only person who always appreciated him for who he was, is now far away. Eager to rekindle their friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope with confidence to help her find a husband.
But when his lessons work too well, Colin has to wonder if his feelings for Penelope are truly friendly. Complicating things for Penelope is her separation from Eloise (Claudia Jessie), who has found a new friend in a very unlikely place, and Penelope’s growing presence in the world further complicates her secret. Netflix also released the first poster for season three, featuring Francesca Bridgerton. We remind you that the series returns in two parts. The first four episodes will be available from May 16, and the remaining four will be released on June 13.
