he asked letter boxFind out what are director Zack Snyder’s four favorite films:
4 – Let the show begin
A feature film directed by Bob Fosse and released on July 16, 1980 in France, Let the Show Begin tells the story of the broken life of choreographer Joe Gideon (Roy Scheider), who lives only to dance and perform. Except he has a heart attack and a certain Angelica (Jessica Lange) starts getting too close to him.
Palme d’Or at the 1980 Cannes Film Festival, tied with Kagemu, Akira Kurosawa’s Shadow Warrior.
3- blue velvet
The fourth film directed by David Lynch, Blue Velvet (1986) was largely inspired by film noir, which was very popular after the war, and contained elements that would become recurring in his later films, such as dreams and the dark and atmospheric atmosphere of Menace.
In Lumberton, North Carolina, Jeffrey Beaumont (Kyle McLachlan) discovers a human ear in a field just as his father has a heart attack. When Inspector Williams begins to investigate, Geoffrey decides to carry out his own investigation with the help of the policeman’s daughter, Sandy.

2- Excalibur
Directed by John Boorman, Excalibur was released in 1981 in France and follows the life of Arthur Pendragon, from his youth to his ascension to the throne of Brittany thanks to the mythical sword Excalibur, which only he can pull from the rock. Where Arthur’s father Uther had once planted it.
As Snyder experienced with Justice League, Sucker Punch or most recently Rebel Moon, Boorman saw Excalibur mostly cut in the studio as it was about three hours long to edit! 2 hours left for the version released in cinemas.
1 – Star Wars
There is no need to introduce the Star Wars saga, the most famous cinematic franchise that Zack Snyder, born in 1966, admits he grew up with (he was 11 years old when the first installment was released).
He was immediately seduced by the world created by George Lucas, to the point where he was subsequently signed on for Rebel Moon, a Star Wars adaptation he never got around to making. His script, which was deemed too violent, was rejected by Disney.
He brings it back today, re-adapted into the new world of his creation, in collaboration with Kurt Johnstead and Shay Hatten. Currently, find the first episode on Netflix, hosted by Sofia Boutella and Michiel Huisman.
