The new installment of the ‘Jurassic World’ saga continues to sweep the world box office with more than 600 million raised after its second weekend, although the first reactions to ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ were very mixed and some voices highlighted that it could be “the worst of the franchise(Not the case with our ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ review.)
Despite the success in number of spectators, director Colin Trevorrow is facing a lot of criticism on social networks for copying scenes from ‘Jurassic Park’ in Jurassic World 3′ or for repeating errors in the saga, but last weekend he answered one of these complaints with a fairly solid argument, which ended up convincing the person who had questioned him .
SPOILERS FOR ‘JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION’
In the final fight between dinosaurs in ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’, The Giganotosaurus seems to easily finish off our beloved Tyrannosaurus Rex, but “Rexy” revives at the last moment, like Jason Voorhees or Michael Myers, and battles back. Finally, and with the invaluable help of the Therizinosaurus’s very long claws (If the T-Rex was Jason, the Therizinosaurus is Freddy Krueger), the Giganotosaurus was defeated.
This fight was not to the liking of actor Angel Rosario Jr. (who will appear in the next ‘Black Adam’), who quoted Trevorrow on Twitter and commented on the following:
“Hey @colintrevorrow… you made the Rex look weak. Again. Come now! It is the face of the franchise. Horrible. The Giga might have been strong, but science shows that the Rex was a stronger and better predator. Very disappointed in your use of Rexy. #JurassicWorldDominion”
The director answered. Y the zasca was heard in the Cretaceous.
“I understand the sentiment. It’s worth noting that the T-Rex had a life expectancy of 28 years on average, so our Rexy would be nearing the end of his Dominion life. Even at that age, he found the strength to rise up and avenge his own death, 65 million years later. Sometimes revenge takes time.”
Rosario Jr. could not do anything but pick up cablepraise the answer and, incidentally, drop the hint (very direct) that to see if they work together one day… However, Forbes critic Scott Mendelson wanted to continue the joke and, following the parallelism that we have established before between Rexy and the horror movie villains with the most accumulated deaths, he commented:
“That is no excuse! Michael Myers is approaching 65 years old and he can still murder about 40 people in a single night!“
Colin Trevorrow had no choice but to reply: “I have been portrayed“.
