The triathlete who was hit on Saturday (23rd) remains in intensive care
Triathlete Luisa Batista has had significant clinical improvement over the past 48 hours and was removed from extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) this Wednesday morning (27). The athlete remains hospitalized in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Hospital das Clínicas of the USP Faculty of Medicine (FMUSP), in Sao Paulo.
After being the victim of a serious accident, Luisa continues to receive specialized intensive care. The update on the health status of the 29-year-old Olympic athlete was made through a new medical bulletin released by the HC this Wednesday afternoon (27).
Pan American champion, the triathlete was hit during training on Saturday (23rd), on the Estrada Municipal Abel Terrugi (SCA-329), in the Santa Eudóxia district. The triathlete was transferred from Santa Casa de São Carlos (SP) in air intensive care to the state capital. Luísa is accompanied to the HC by sports doctor Paulo Puccinelli, who works for the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB), as well as the triathlete’s parents and brother.
