A Marvel fan believes the next Asgardian adventure could open the door for mutants to enter the MCU.
‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ hasn’t hit theaters yet.and Marvel fans are already poring over trailer footage for clues as to what this movie could set up for future installments of the MCU.
In a new fan theory video on the Everything Always channel, Michael Roman focuses on the possibility that the new Chris Hemsworth toOpen the door for fan-favorite mutant character Wolverine to finally make his official debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. now that Fox’s dominance over the X-Men is over. Specifically, he thinks we’re not too far from seeing those adamantium claws… Mind you, who will be the new Wolverine? That is the other great mystery to be solved.
In Marvel Comics history, adamantium is an indestructible alloy created by scientists in an attempt to recreate the vibranium metal that makes up Captain America’s shield, named for references in classical mythology to unbreakable materials, such as diamond. “adamantine”.
And now we know that several Marvel figures inspired by Greek mythology will appear in Love and Thunder, especially Russell Crowe’s King of Olympus, as the god Zeus himself. In the new trailer for the film, Zeus and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) can be seen wielding Zeus’ signature weapon, the thunderbolt, which in the film appears to be forged from metal. Perhaps, according to Roman, even adamantium.
He goes on to speculate that if Valkyrie does bring adamantium to Earth, the MCU has a history of showing the US government interfering and attempting to use alien technology for their own ends. Perhaps so, he says, as we see the Weapon X initiative form in the MCU, leading to the introduction of Wolverine and his adamantium claws. (This is unlikely to happen in an already packed collection of characters, and is more likely to be hinted at in a post-credits scene that may see continuity in a later Phase 4 film).
“Now they have the rights to everything,” he says. “They can introduce adamantium into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and you have to if you’re going to introduce Wolverine. Wolverine can’t be too far away, all the pieces are there“.
