Like sharks, crocodiles and snakes, spiders have had their hour of glory in cinema. Jack Arnold, a director who specializes in B-movies and is best known for his fantasy masterpiece The Shrinking Man, was able to captivate audiences in the 1950s with his tarantula.
In the 90s, Frank Marshall tackled this very specific genre of “arachnorea” with arachnophobia. And a few years later, in 2004, it was David Arquette and Scarlett Johansson’s turn to face the fearsome giant spiders in Arac Attack.

Bringing spiders to life
