As production begins later this year, casting news for Dune: second part turns into a sandstorm of activity. The latest addition to the long-awaited sequel is Léa Seydoux, who negotiates a deal to play Lady Margot.

For those who do not have an in-depth knowledge of James Dyer-esque de Dunes With wisdom in hand, Lady Margot is married to Count Hasimir Fenring, ruler of her cottage, who is linked to the Corrino House and therefore to the Emperor. Margot is also a devoted part of the Bene Gesserit fraternity, helping to influence the bloodlines and, after Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) gains more power following his union with the Fremen on the planet Arrakis, he helps Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) to avoid a Harkonnen trap. .

And, spoiler alert, when the Bene Gesserit finally become less influential, Margot and her husband struggle to maintain their strong power base.

Chalamet returns from the first film along with Ferguson, Zendaya and Josh Brolin, the cast will include newcomers Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken and Austin Butler.

Denis Villeneuve returns to direct (and co-write with Jon Spaihts) the new film, which is scheduled for release on October 20.
