January 4: The Sun Brothers

Brad Falchuk, often inseparable from Ryan Murphy, teams up with Byron Wu today for an explosive new series that combines comedy, drama and action with an exceptional cast including Michelle Yeoh, Justin Chien and Sam Song Lee.

The Sun Brothers tells the story of Charles Sun, a Taipei Triad gangster who learns that his father has been killed by a mysterious assassin. He then travels to Los Angeles to protect his strong-willed mother and brother, who knows nothing of their activities.

January 25: Griselda

Do you miss Narcos? Its creative team is back with a new series called Griselda. Actress Sofia Vergara steps into the shoes of the ambitious Griselda Blanco, head of one of the most profitable cartels in history, in Miami in the 70s and 80s.

A fierce savagery and a certain charm allowed Blanco to expertly navigate his way between business and family, earning him the nickname “The Godfather” before other barons made a name for themselves as Pablo Escobar.

January 1: Double Trap

Fans of British thrillers will be treated to this exciting new series. Adapted from Harlan Coben’s novel, Double Trap follows the investigation of Maya Stern, an ex-soldier who thinks she saw Joe, her late husband, on surveillance video.

He joins forces with police officer Sami Kiers, who is already in charge of investigating Joe’s alleged death. At the same time, Maya’s nephew and niece try to find out the truth about their mother’s death. Are these two cases related? Starring: Michelle Keegan, Adel Akhtar and Joanna Lumley.

January 11: The Boy and the World

Vikings star Travis Fimmel stars in a new adventure series adapted from Trent Dalton’s semi-autobiographical novel. The Boy and the World is an eight-part detective series set in Brisbane in the 1980s, produced by Joel Egerton and created by John Cole (Master and Commander, Happy Feet, Tarzan).

In this action-packed adventure, the magic and innocence of childhood collide with the harsh realities of the adult world. An abandoned father, a silent brother, a mother struggling with addiction, a heroin-dealing stepfather and a notorious criminal nanny…everything changes when young Ellie answers the red phone in the basement of her house.
