According to a study, almost 16 million families will go shopping
New Year’s Eve in Italy begins with the advance for the winter sales, which will begin on Wednesday (3) in Valle d’Aosta and Friday (5) in the other regions.
A survey by Confcommercio estimates that 15.8 million families will go shopping in search of discounts.
Each person will spend, on average, around 137 euros (R$734), generating a turnover of 4.8 billion euros (R$25.7 billion).
“These estimates highlight resistance in Italians’ propensity to consume, after a complicated year in which fashion contributed significantly to the fall and containment of inflation”, explained the national president of the Italian Fashion Federation-Confcommercio, Giulio Felloni .
“These sales represent an exceptional opportunity for consumers, who will be able to find a wide variety of quality products at very affordable prices in fashion stores,” he continued.
“Fashion retail remains an essential component for the value and vitality of streets, squares and historic centres, contributing to the growth of GDP and employment in Italy”, he added. .
