Netflix has released a new image from Avatar: The Last Airbender. The photo shows the three protagonists in action: Aang, Katara and Sokka.
The 8-episode series is eagerly awaited by fans of the original mid-2000s cartoon. And the streaming service promises to put an end to one of the greatest injustices in cinematic history.
Let me explain: This isn’t Hollywood’s first attempt at a live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender. Famous director M. Night Shyamalan made a very weak film in August 2010.
To give you an idea, the film won Worst Film of the Year at the Golden Raspberry Awards. It also received a poor rating of 6% approval from critics and 42% approval from users onwards Rotten tomatoes.
The film fell far short of the original plan. Avatar: The Last Airbender was officially released in 2005 on Nickelodeon and became a huge success. Both for the well-told story and the talented features, in a mix of anime and cartoon.
There were 61 episodes divided into 3 seasons, which you can currently consult in the Netflix and Paramount+ catalogs.
