Claudia Alencar improves and can walk slowly

Claudia Alencar has shown continued clinical and laboratory improvements, but is not yet expected to be discharged from the hospital, according to the medical bulletin published Tuesday (2/1). The actress was diagnosed with a serious bacterial infection in the final weeks of 2023.

In an interview with the Extra newspaper, Claudia’s team said that she “is already walking slowly with the hospital physiotherapist, has come out of the tube and is eating”. The actress has received affection and care from her friends in these difficult days, and they, in turn, accompany her.

The 73-year-old actress, who made her name in the soap operas “Tieta” (1989) and “Fera Ferida” (1993), is hospitalized at the Clínica São Vicente, in the south of Rio de Janeiro. She was admitted to hospital with a bacterial infection after undergoing back surgery.

Claudia Alencar had to undergo surgery on December 24 so that doctors could identify more details about the bacterial infection. The woman worsened clinically, with traces of septicemia and she ended up sedated by mechanical ventilation.
