Five Nights at Freddy’s may not receive a sequel. Despite being one of the top horror hits of 2023 and breaking Blumhouse’s box office record, the company’s producer said a sequel is not guaranteed.
Ryan Turek’s statements were made during an interview with Collider. He noted that the film performed well at the box office, but stressed that he has yet to receive a positive nod for a continuation of the story.
For fans, however, that doesn’t mean the franchise is coming to an end. According to the Blumhouse producer himself, this waiting is just “part of the process”.
There is also a “pressure” from the actors themselves for a continuation. Matthew Lillard (Shout out, Scooby-Doo), for example, has already highlighted his desire for the film to become a franchise. And he has assured that he wants to be in the next feature films.
