After months of waiting, Plus belle la vie is gearing up for its big return to television this Monday, January 8 on TF1 from 1:40 p.m. In this case, early fans will be able to find many emblematic actors who have marked the history of the France 3 series, such as Laurent Kerusseau (Thomas), Léa François (Barbara) or even Anna Decis (Luna).
And if Plus belle la vie, encore plus belle still takes place in Marseille, TF1 has decided to modernize the series by offering new settings in which the characters will develop.
Thus, the high school, the hotel Le Zephyr and the hospital will become a student residence managed by Mirta (Sylvie Flap) and Yolande (Elisabeth Comelin) and a medical practice in which Gabriel (Joachim Latzko), Babette (Marie). Réache) and Léa (Marie Heneres).
Following the demolition of Place du Mistral, the bar will also have a facelift and is now run by Thomas, Barbara and Killian, and the police station will now be located on the same square as the office and the new bar.
New Mistral Square in Allakh
The exteriors of this series were shot in a typical Provençal square in the small town of Allauch, while the interiors were reconstructed at the Belle de Mai studio in Marseille.
This new work environment was created in a record time of 3 months. “Between development, validation, then construction, painting and finishing, everything happened very quickly, mobilizing up to 80 people at a time.” Francis Gibbet, production designer, told TF1 in a press release.
While Plus belle la vie, even plus belle launches in a few days, AlloCiné offers a quick overview of these new settings.
Mistral Bar
After the destruction of the Place du Mistral, Le Marci and the Mistral bar no longer exist. So Thomas, Killian and Barbara decided to join forces to open a new restaurant in another square located in the Pannery district of Marseille.

New Mistral bar
The first episode of Plus belle la vie, even plus belle will also be the scene of the inauguration of this new location. It’s a much more modern restaurant, consisting of a bar, open kitchen and patio, which TF1 viewers will be able to experience on Monday 8 January.

Kitchen and yard
Everything is designed to make it easy for the characters to walk to the kitchen and the outdoor terrace, which will improve the view of the environment. The scenes outside Mistral’s bar will be filmed in a small square in the town of Alauk.
Police Department
This iconic location from Plus belle la vie, in which many characters worked, also saw a small face. If the interior decor is in the same studio as the old decor, TF1 has completely redesigned the interior to offer viewers a much more relevant place.

New police station
A digital board, clean lines, an American-style interrogation room… everything is done so that the police under the leadership of the new commissioner, played by Moon Dailly, can solve the investigation as quickly as possible.
As for the exterior, the production uses a building located on the same square as the new Mistral bar.

Masalia student residence
With the disappearance of the high school, the production of Plus belle la vie, encore plus belle needed a new place for the development of the younger generation.
So they decided to create a new environment: the Massalia student residence (from the Greek name of ancient Marseille), run by Yolande and Mirta, which houses students like Nisma and Jules, but also young professionals.

Reception and bar of the student residence
This is the largest set in the series with 340 m² used. “This setting does not exist in any other French series– said the chief decorator. Imagined as a rehabilitation of an old Marseille soap factory, this place consists of a large common room with a lounge, a bar and even a small stage where all the residents can meet.

Residence laundry
A common laundry room has also been installed. At the moment, only one room has been created. Therefore, the decorators will have to change the decoration every time to suit the person who lives there. The exterior will be shot in studios.
Medical office
The hospital was an emblematic place in Plus belle la vie. Now the doctors of this set will work in the medical office. Gabrielle, Babette and Léa team up to open this new location, also located on the new Place du Mistral. The production challenge was to keep the place warm.

So the teams responsible for the decorations put up a lot of posters and paintings to give the place a soul. There’s even a kids’ corner to keep the little ones entertained.
