Netflix: After the Oscars, Michelle Yeoh is back in an impressive action series

In a luxury apartment in Taipei, Taiwan, a man is visited by murderers while making a cake. The fight starts before the oven gets overheated before it ends in a pool of blood. Its opening sequence sets the tone for Brothers Sun. There will be action and absurd scenes as well.

After the death of his father, underworld tycoon Charles Sun (Justin Chien) must find his brother to catch those who killed the patriarch. The only problem: while Charles is a mobster himself, his brother (Sam Song Lee) lives a perfectly classic teenage life in California with his mother (Michelle Yeoh). His composure will soon disappear.

While its premise doesn’t shine with its originality – the idea of two diametrically opposed brothers coming together in an unusual context is nothing new – The Sun Brothers lives up to its contract by offering a fun story, punctuated by fight scenes.

Michelle Yeoh in “The Sun Brothers”.

In preparation, the stars were trained by John Wick’s film crew for 3 months, but some of the actors were already experienced. This is the case of Justin Chien, who trained Muay Thai for 10 years and Jiu Jitsu for 4 years.

One of the main advantages of the series is the presence of Michelle Yeoh – Oscar winner for the film Everything Everywhere at the same time in 2023. The actress plays a mother who is not like others and signs an amazing character and obviously evil.

Sun Brothers is available on Netflix.
