Anabelía Ayala reported Benítez for domestic violence and assault; the player was arrested, but later threatened the young woman
Anabelia Ayala, ex-girlfriend of Óscar Benítez, player of Boca Juniors, was found dead this Wednesday (3), in Argentin. Eela was involved with the player between 2018 and 2019, but she ended the relationship after reporting him for domestic violence. There is still no confirmation on the causes of the young woman’s death.
Benítez has already been arrested twice for the accusations made by Anabelia and also for threatening the young woman’s father. Furthermore, he has received a court order to stay 300 meters away from his ex-girlfriend. His last arrest occurred in early 2023, when he threatened the young woman’s family with a knife and attacked her ex-father-in-law.
“She suffered an ordeal for five years, but she couldn’t cope and was exhausted. He (Benítez) called her on video calls, because if she didn’t answer he would threaten her at home. He beat her, he even bit her face, he hit her, punched her in the ribs. A week before the event she had breathing problems, but we don’t know if he hit her again,” said the dead girl’s cousin, Belén García.
According to information provided by the family itself, the last attempt to approach Benítez took place on 30 December. At the time, he ignored the court order and approached Anabelia’s house, located in the city of Almirante Brown, Greater Buenos Aires. The player, 30 years old, has not played since 2021, due to problems with the pitches.
