There are movies that completely change your appreciation for a name… such was 1976’s The Curse of Richard Donner. In this horror film, the United States ambassador to London, Robert Thorne (Gregory Peck), realizes that his five-year-old son, Damien, is nothing more than the reincarnation of the Antichrist. 48 years after the film, Arkasha Stevenson’s (Legion) prequel will see the light of day. The original film had several sequels: Damien: The Curse 2 (1978), The Final Curse (1981), the TV movie The Curse 4: The Awakening (1991), and a John Moore remake released in 2006: 666: The Curse.

Therefore, The Curse was added to the long list of cult horror films that Hollywood updated after Halloween, The Exorcist and the remakes of Carrie, Simetierre, It, Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Firestarter or Evil Dead.
