The body is found in Amazonas and the police suspect it is that of a missing Venezuelan circus artist


Friends and relatives are already mourning the death of the artist Julieta Inés Hernández Martínez




A body was found in the late afternoon of Friday 5th, buried in a wooded area in the municipality of Presidente Figueiredo, near Manaus, in the Amazon. According to the Secretariat of Public Security, the suspicion is that the body belongs to Julieta Inés Hernández Martínez, Venezuelanmissing since December 23rd.

During searches in the region, the police initially identified parts of the bicycle used by Julieta Hernández, which were located in the vicinity of where the body was located. The location is near a shelter where the woman was staying.

The Technical-Scientific Department of the Police (DPTC) is still working to identify the body. However, friends and relatives are already mourning the death of the circus artist.

“We dream of a world where women can walk without fear, where children are free to play, where clowns leave only when their noses go to rest. In this world, Juju would have crossed Brazil and managed to find her mother in her homeland”, wrote the profile of a circus group on a social network.

Also according to the SSP, a couple was arrested by the Amazon Civil Police on suspicion of involvement in the crime. They will be questioned at the local police station. The agency, however, did not share further information so as not to disrupt the course of the investigation.
