The president of Sao Paulo reveals whether Muricy Ramalho can be the team’s coach

The former coach’s name has emerged as a possible replacement for Dorival Júnior, who will lead the Brazilian team

The president of São Paulo, Júlio Casares, published a note on Monday (8) in which he excludes a return of Muricy Ramalho as coach of the team. The former coach is a three-time consecutive Brasileirão champion with the Tricolore.

– Muricy is our friend. A great professional and a person I trust very much. He will remain with us until the end of his mandate. He works a lot. We have an agreement that I would never take the coaching position. A great coordinator who was invited by CBF 3 times and decided to stay in Sao Paulo. With the renewed contract and a lot of desire, he continues firmly. Our board keeps its word. Today is another day of intense activity. Let’s continue – he wrote.

Muricy, now São Paulo’s football coordinator, has appeared as one of the names to fill the place left by Dorival Júnior, who will take charge of the Brazilian team.

Having no more time, Sao Paulo also looked for Juan Pablo Vojvoda, from Fortaleza. However, he heard the Argentine coach’s “no”.

San Paolo’s intention is to have a new coach before his debut in Serie A Paulista Championship. Looking for a replacement for the former coach, the Tricolor will be led by Pedro Sotero, the club’s permanent technical assistant and Dorival’s son.

Paulistão’s first match will be against Santo André, on January 20 (Saturday), at 8pm (Brasilia time), at Morumbi.
