Registration for the “Hackers for Good” program is open. The course aimed at training professionals in the field of cybersecurity will be provided free of charge via distance learning and aims to train 30,000 professionals.
Classes will be available from January 22 and training is expected to be completed at the end of 2025. Certificates will be issued with each completed phase so that students can have opportunities in the job market.
The initiative aims to revolutionize the cybersecurity scenario in Brazil by developing human resources in the sector, therefore it is not necessary to have experience to enroll in the course.
Despite making up 28% of the Brazilian population, the presence of black women in the technology field is scarce. According to a PretaLab study published in 2022, only 11% work in technology companies and only 3% are enrolled in a computer engineering course. Free training is an opportunity to expand statistics.
The program aims to train students in technical, secondary and higher education, covering both those who are already looking for opportunities in technology-related fields, as well as young people without previous experience in the sector.
With the support of the National Education and Research Network (RNP) and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), the initiative in collaboration with the National Industrial Learning Service of São Paulo (Senai-SP) offers five training paths learning, from Leveling to Technological Residency, with synchronous – which take place in real time – and asynchronous lessons.
The project also funds research, development and innovation (RD&I) projects and promotes competitions and events. Furthermore, through the National Cybersecurity Hub, the initiative will connect students, professionals, research laboratories, startups and institutions to strengthen the Brazilian cybersecurity ecosystem.
Registration must be carried out on the official website of the “Hackers do Bem” project.
