Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin
Kingpin is one of the best-known villains in the Marvel Comics universe and usually acts against the publisher’s urban heroes. Initially introduced as a Spider-Man villain, Wilson Fisk ended up becoming Daredevil’s nemesis, while acting as the big boss of New York’s organized crime.
Not always operating in the shadows, Fisk acted like a New York businessman, while violently dominating the city’s underworld. In some stories, in addition to completely tormenting the life of lawyer Matt Murdock, Fisk tried to transfer his power to politics, managing to become mayor of New York.
In the MCU, Fisk is played by actor Vincent D’Onofrio (MIB men in black) and appeared in the first season of Marvel’s Daredevil. Represented as a portly, bald and sometimes calm man, even apparently shy, his presence becomes increasingly violent and uncontrolled during his participation in the series.
Just like in the comics, Fisk poses as a successful businessman while commanding criminal gangs in New York. His life and his plans change when he ends up in the crosshairs of the vigilante Daredevil.
Rivalry between Fisk and the Man Without Fear
Enemies in virtually every adaptation they’ve ever had, Kingpin and blind lawyer Matt Murdock have always been on opposing sides, fighting each other for the soul of New York.
In the Netflix series, Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox, is a lawyer who suffered an accident as a child, leaving him blind but with improvements in his other senses. After years of training and studying the law, he holds the role of legal defender by day and vigilante by night.
He ends up crossing paths with Kingpin while investigating a crime linked to his secretary, Karen Page. The events of the first season bring Daredevil and Fisk into a direct confrontation, which ends up sending the villain to prison.
Despite initially getting rid of the Kingpin, his presence is still felt in the second season of the hero series, and he returns in the third season. This time, fresh out of prison, Fisk begins a campaign against the vigilantes, focusing on Daredevil. To change people’s perceptions, he hires Benjamin Poindexter, a mercenary who wears the hero’s clothes and commits murders throughout the city.
Seeking to clear his name, Murdock returns to his first uniform to battle Bullseye and Fisk. With the end of the Netflix series, the arrest of Kingpin and the return to the streets of the real Daredevil was the last appearance of Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio as characters.

At the conclusion of the series, Maya discovers that her father was betrayed by the Kingpin, who used Ronin to eliminate him. To take revenge on the real culprit, the young girl finds Fisk and, without thinking twice, she shoots the bad guy in the face, quickly fleeing.
