CES2024 | ASUS announces new ROG gamer peripherals; know


During CES 2024, ASUS’ ROG division announced new peripherals, highlighting a low-profile mechanical keyboard and an ultra-lightweight mouse for FPS gaming.

In addition to announcing new screen technologies and rugged gaming notebooks, the ROG division of ASUS revealed a sizable array of new peripherals. At the conference at CES 2024, the company showed the new CETRA headphones True wireless with 46 hours of battery life, the new low-profile Falchion RX keyboard, the Keris II ACE mouse for competitive gamers and the new CARNYX condenser microphone for content creators.



Mouse Keris II ACE

Starting from the mice, the Keris II ACE is a model designed for eSports with an ultra-light weight of just 54 g. However, it is worth remembering that the mouse gives up the typical honeycomb shape to balance the weight ratio and looks like a traditional device.

The model should not have any interference problems. Bluetooth signal on behalf of technology SpeedNova, which guarantees lower latency. The sensor is the AIMPOINT PRO with a resolution of up to 42 thousand DPI and a technology that improves grip and recognition on practically any surface without causing problems. The main buttons, in fact, use proprietary ROG switches with a lifespan of 100 million clicks.

Keris II ACE can also be used with an ROG dongle which increases the polling rate up to 4,000 Hz in wireless mode and up to 8,000 Hz in wired connection, improving the user experience for the most demanding gamers. This way, gamers can play both wired and wirelessly.

Low profile Falchion RX keyboard

In addition to the mouse, ROG’s next peripheral is the Falchion RX Low Profile, a slim mechanical keyboard with low-profile keys. The device comes with red or blue low-profile ROG RX switches, as well as keys made with UV light and ABS plastic.

Inside there is a double layer of foam that improves key activation and provides more pleasant feedback and sound. The back has a touch control area for volume, media control, lighting, and customizable shortcuts. In this area there is also a switch that allows the user to select the mode of use, whether wireless connection via dongle, Bluetooth or via USB-C cable.

ROG Falchion RX Low Profile has a battery life of 430 hours and can be connected to the ROG OMNI dongle for simultaneous connection with a mouse, without the need to use two dongles to do so.

CETRA True Wireless SpeedNova headphones

ASUS also presented CETRA, ROG’s new True Wireless earphones. The model can be used in Bluetooth mode or via a small USB-C dongle with a 2.4Ghz connection, allowing simultaneous connection with up to two devices.

SpeedNova technology returns to reduce latency when playing content, being 25% faster than other earphones available on the market, according to the manufacturer. As for sound quality, the headphones operate in the 24-bit band with 96 kHz audio and compatibility with the L3C+ codec.

The built-in microphone has AI noise cancellation and captures sounds through bone conduction. As for the battery, the earphones have an autonomy of 36 hours via 2.4 Ghz and up to 46 hours if connected via Bluetooth.

CARNYX microphone

Finally, the last peripheral announced by ROG was the CARNYX, a condenser gaming microphone designed for content creators. The model has a cardioid pickup pattern, i.e. capable of capturing all sounds coming from the front and excluding other sounds coming from the sides and rear region.

This peripheral has a 25 mm internal capsule to improve pitch and a sampling rate of 192 kHz, 24 bit. Like other microphones on the market, the CARNYX features a built-in pop filter and a knob with noise reduction function and volume adjustment. The top part is touch and can be used to change the voice.

Availability

The ROG Falchion RX Low Profile and ROG CARNYX microphone will be available for purchase in early 2024, while the ROG CETRA True Wireless will arrive late in the first quarter. The ROG KERIS II ACE will only be available in mid-2024.

There is no information on the price or details on the arrival of these products in Brazil.
