Less than four months ago, Cedric Kahn locked us in the courtroom with his intense Goldman Trial. Today the director has already returned to cinema. In the open air, sometimes, to take us behind the scenes of the chaotic filming.

Directed by Denis Podalides, Jonathan Cohen, Emmanuelle Bercott, Suheila Yacoub and Stephane Crepon, this Russian Doll-esque masterpiece is almost three films in one. Including the social drama we witness the filming of, as well as behind the scenes. where situations echo each other.

As he himself said on our microphone, Cedric Kahn really wanted to “Talking about cinema from the angle of class conflict”Which gives us several situations of tension, even chaos, a figure that we often find in his filmography. We have a fantasy in cinema, of brotherhood, of happiness in creativity, of horizontality, but this is not true at all.– he tells us, while the (ironic) title of his thirteenth feature film praises us. “Wonderful World of Cinema”.

As exciting as his feature films, Cédric Kahn discusses with us different aspects of his new film: its structure, the mix of tones, his vision of the film industry, his approach to each project or even the personal side of the story. Because this Making Of is also a portrait of the director. So from myself.

“I’m kidding myself in this portrait”– he tells us without even directly asking. But he admits he didn’t want to take on the role of filmmaker, which Dennis Podalides is lending his hand to in the film, which opens in theaters on January 10.
