Seven years after John Wick, screenwriter Derek Kohlstad reprises the card of a ruthless killer who doesn’t look like much, but his past keeps coming up with no one. Except instead of Keanu Reeves, who was much more familiar with the action, it was Bob Odenkirk.
The feature film, released in theaters worldwide in 2021, admittedly only made $57.5 million at the box office due to the pandemic, but it had little effect.
So much so that in June 2021, when the first opus was released in France, director Ilya Naishuler confirmed that a sequel was being written, and it was made official in December 2022 by producer Kelly McCormick. Nothing since then. But the project did not fail, however.
“Yes, we will, but I can’t tell you anything about it yet.”– answered Connie Nielsen, the interpreter in the saga of the hero’s wife, when Comicbook.com asked him about it. Is it because the plot didn’t develop much? Because it is required to be kept secret? a bit of both?
So he’ll have to wait a little longer until he sees Bob Odenkirk making guns and his fists talking again. But the heart attack that the actor suffered on the set of the final season of Better Call Saul in July 2021 does not seem to end this career that no one would bet on, but it should continue soon.
