The coach also criticized the team’s stance after the defeat suffered by Palmeiras and asked for greater commitment from the athletes

After the defeat suffered at Allianz Parque, Juventude starts the week trying to regroup. Back in Caxias do Sul, the group led by Thiago Carpini will have just three days to recover morale and adjust the team before the match against Fluminense, scheduled for Thursday (16th), at the Maracanã.

The performance against Palmeiras sparked strong demands from the coach and management immediately after the final whistle. In the press conference Carpini underlined that no strategy works without the commitment of the players and asked for greater commitment in the fight against relegation.

The coach’s words were reinforced by sporting director Luis Carlos Bianchi. The director expressed concern about the team’s apathetic attitude, recognized the technical superiority of the São Paulo opponent, but underlined that effort and organization are essential to balance forces with the teams at the top of the table.

Naturally, given the technical difference, we must try to overcome with organization, with desire, with dedication. We follow Carpini’s training sessions on a daily basis and the work is all aimed at trying to minimize the difference that exists between organized teams. We will continue to push the button, demanding from the athletes until the last moment. As long as there are points to play for, we will continue to work. Once again Carpini will work, organize the team, but when the athletes enter the field, to put into practice what they have trained during the week, if there is no dedication, commitment and a minimum of desire, everything that is done during the week is in vain. Let’s mobilize, once again, work and hope we can achieve a better result against Fluminense – said Bianchi in an interview with Rádio Caxias.

Juventude will play five more matches at the Alfredo Jaconi stadium, against Bragantino, Palmeiras, Cruzeiro, Bahia and Santos. The team is five points behind Santos, who occupy 16th place in the table.
