This is the big hit that Lupine has had this year on Netflix. Three months after its release – the period of time that the platform tests to determine if the content is a hit – the French production has just joined the 3rd season Top 10 Most Viewed Non-English Language Series.
But what makes the hero played by Omar Sy so strong is that he rises in this ranking not one, not two, but three seasons. Lupine does as well as La Casa de Papel, which also monopolizes three places in this top.
Figures that confirm the program’s appeal in France and internationally, even the newspaper Netflix & Chiffres, which analyzes the data every week, expresses some reservations: “We’re still seeing a dropout rate of almost 50% between S1 and S3.”
Note that the euphoria on the part of Netflix France should be short-lived, as the 3rd season of Lupin is sure to be overshadowed by one of the big hits of the moment – Berlin, the spin-off of La Casa de Papel – in the coming weeks. which came down on the platform like a bomb. That being said, the Lupine teams are nothing shy of success.
Any news from Lupine season 4?
Currently, Netflix has not communicated about a possible Lupine season 4, even if George Kay, the co-creator of the series, seems quite optimistic about the question.
It should be said that the last episode announced the sequel (be careful, the following contains spoilers for season 3): Asan goes to the police and ends up in jail. He then discovers that his cellmate is none other than Hubert Pellegrini, his nemesis from the first two seasons, and that he’s been pulling the strings all along.
This 4th season should see the return of the businessman played by HervĂ© Pierre on our screens after a year’s absence. Screenwriters need to explain why and how he was Diop’s enemy from the beginning, kidnapping his mother…
