All good things come to an end… After seven seasons of good and faithful service, the good doctor is putting his coat away for good! American channel ABC (which airs the series in the US) has just revealed that the adventures of friendly doctor Sean Murphy will come to an end at the end of season 7!
“The Good Doctor” is over!
Airing across the Atlantic from next Tuesday, February 20, these new episodes will unfortunately only be ten episodes long, due to the latest blow to Hollywood in recent months.
Craig Erwich, president of Disney Television Group, said following the announcement:Thanks to the creative vision David Shore and Liz Friedman and performance Freddie HighmoreThe Good Doctor captivated audiences who connected deeply with Dr. Sean Murphy and the hospital team.“
“As we prepare to bring this beloved story to a close, words cannot express our gratitude to our incredible cast, crew and partners at Sony and ABC Signature for their lasting impact.”
What can we expect in Season 7?
So how will Shaun Murphy and co do the final lap? At the end of Season 6 of The Good Doctor, our hero and Leah (Paige Spara) had a baby, little Steve! Undoubtedly, their first steps (and their difficulties!) as new parents will be at the center of the next intrigue.
But that’s not all, as fans will also see the consequences of Alex (Will Yun Lee) and Morgan’s (Fiona Gubelman) big decision: separate but raise the latter’s adopted child together…
Finally, after already reappearing in season 6, actor Chuku Modu (Jared) will return to see his former colleagues! On the other hand, as previously revealed, Hill Harper (Dr. Marcus Andrews) and Brandon Larracuente (Dr. Danny Perez) are not set to return in The Good Doctor’s swan song.
Prepare the tissues!
