The coach of the Tetra team undergoes chemotherapy against lymphoma
Former Brazilian national team coach Carlos Alberto Parreira has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma and is undergoing chemotherapy treatment for the disease. The CBF reported this on Friday (12th).
Responsible for leading Brazil to victory in the 1994 World Cup, the occasion of their fourth title, Parreira is currently 80 years old.
“The four-time champion trainer’s family and the Samaritan Hospital medical team accompanying him say that Parreira continues to make positive progress with his treatments and thank everyone for their concern and care,” the CBF said.
The former coach has been undergoing treatment for four months and, the note reads, “is showing an excellent response”.
