“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is now on Disney +. The blockbuster, which continues in theaters, was made available to subscribers to the platform this Wednesday (22/6).
Released in theaters last month, the sequel to “Doctor Strange” is the highest-grossing film of 2022, having already grossed over $ 943 million worldwide.
The film solidified the transformation of the Marvel Universe into the Multiverse.
Direct continuation of the “Spider-Man: No Return Home” phenomenon, tells what happens after Doctor Strange breaks the boundaries between dimensions, resulting in a multiplication of characters and versions of characters, with the participation of members of the X-Men Fantastic Four, Inhumans and the cartoon “What if …?”. But it’s worth noting that, in addition to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and his enemy (spoiler) Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), the film’s most prominent character is America Chavez, a heroine from another universe played by Xochitl Gomez. (“The babysitter”).
The screenplay is by Michael Waldron, creator of “Loki”, who planted the seeds of the multiverse in that series and here he gets lost between dimensions. Already the direction was entrusted to Sam Raimi, who in his return to Marvel characters, after directing the original Spider-Man trilogy, has the mission of making multi-excess fun.
