“I may be a horrible guy, but the other guy is horrible,” Bolsonaro says of Lula

The former president was in a community of Vila Histórica de Mambucaba, in Angra dos Reis (RJ) and criticized the PT government

Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) has returned to controversy on social media. Visiting the historic village of Mambucaba, in Angra dos Reis (RJ), this Sunday (14), Bolsonaro said that “he may be a horrible guy, but the other guy is horrible“, in reference to the current president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).

“If anyone here voted for the PT, it could exist, there’s no comparison. I might be a horrible guy, but the other guy (Lula) is terrible. There’s no way this is going to work,” Bolsonaro said.

The former president criticized the work of the Landless Rural Workers’ Movement (MST) and was also incisive in changing the rules for purchasing weapons in the country: “I basically had no STDs with me”he has declared.

Reasons for criticism of Lula

The criticism of the current Brazilian head of state comes after the praise that the president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, addressed to the PT deputy, saying that he had led good governments and that he had prestige.

Costa Neto gave an interview to the newspaper The diary, from the Mogi das Cruzes (SP) region, which went viral on the networks. The president of the PL declared that “Lula is different from Bolsonaro because he has a lot of prestige.”

Costa Neto went further: “There is no comparison with Bolsonaro. Completely different. First of all, Lula has a lot of prestige. You don’t have Bolsonaro’s charisma. Lula has prestige, popularity. He is known by all Brazilians. Bolsonaro no”he has declared.

Then, on Saturday (13th), Costa Neto tried to explain himself after the attacks: “They are attacking me, using a speech I made about Lula out of context. I leave them a message: those who do not have loyalty and fidelity have a short life in politics. I am loyal to Bolsonaro and faithful to my principles. Anyone you know knows that my word does not bend“he said, trying to calm the base.
