Filming a sex scene for film or television is undoubtedly one of the most difficult moments for an actor and remains a deep mystery to the average viewer. During a recent interview with HugoDécrypte The face of the program interview is hidden France 2’s Virginie Efira brought up the topic. And revealed the accessory used in these special moments…
Menthol and concealer
At the end of the show, Hugo Travers, aka HugoDécrypte, joins Virgin Ephyra (who had a very easy meeting with Brad Pitt) on some of the special effects used in the filming of the movies. Fake scars, fake vomit, menthol makes you cry… The actor is calmly commenting on everything they are showing when he suddenly calls out and grabs an accessory from the table: “Let’s change the subject, talk about real issues!”
The controversial accessory, Virginie Efira is quick to say, is coverage. “It’s amazing, it’s great to show something like that because people don’t necessarily know, and fortunately for them, actually”– says the actor with a smile.
“If there’s a coitus scene, there’s still modesty. And then if you ever have to touch yourself, it’s all, well, well, short… So we use that, and that means we still have another hand.”Then in detail Virgin aired with gestures while talking (you can watch an excerpt of the interview below from 27 minutes and 38 seconds). “He has a great aesthetic sense, it’s really nice. I really didn’t miss not working for a year!”
A nervous giggle
Earlier in the show, Virginie Efira addressed the topic of filming sex scenes in general. “It’s really cool, I love it, it’s what I prefer”Ironically, what we can find in the Disney+ series is all good.
“It already creates something in the team when there’s a scene like that, everyone takes Rodin’s stance, like, ‘Let’s leave the intimacy to the actors.'”– he continues, more serious. “I have a lot of nervous giggles, so I always act like I’m calm, but I feel like I’m laughing too much and it’s not normal. It’s stressful, it’s scary, but I’ve always managed to chat. Actors or actresses that I’ve done it with. We really get along We’re in it, we’re looking for things. And it’s not uninteresting.”
