In 1997, director Philip Noyce adapted Leslie Charteris’ 1928 novels into the action film The Saint. In the feature film, Val Kilmer portrayed the hero Simon Templar, a character made famous by the 1960s TV series led by future James Bond, Roger Moore.

After 27 years and 96 years after its creation, vigilante will return to cinema! Director Doug Liman, who is responsible for The Memory in the Skin, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and Edge of Tomorrow, is set to reboot.

And it’s British-Zimbabwean actor Rege-Jean Page, discovered in the Netflix series The Bridgertons Chronicle and later seen in The Gray Man and Dungeons & Dragons, who plays this modern-day Robin Hood.

Regé-Jean Page’s name has been floating around English bookies for two years now to reprise his role as James Bond, but it’s another iconic character played by Roger Moore.

The project, announced in 2020, was originally supposed to be directed by Dexter Fletcher (Rocketman) and directed by Chris Pine. Therefore, it is replaced by its counterpart from Dungeons and Dragons.

We still don’t know what the plot of the feature film will be, but screenwriters Rory Haynes and Sohrab Noshirvan ( Black Adam , Designated Criminal ) will have a choice, as the literary saga consists of 84 novels.

The Saint has already been adapted for the screen many times (series, TV movies, movies) and even had a French adaptation by Christian-Jacques in 1967 (The Saint Takeout Lookout), in which Simon Templar was played by Jean Marais.

The release date has not been announced yet.
