
Apple TV + has released the teaser for the limited series “Five Days at Memorial”, which features Vera Farmiga (“Hawkeye”) as a New Orleans doctor struggling with the impact of Hurricane Katrina in August 2005. .
The plot is based on Sheri Fink’s book of the same name. An expansion of a Pulitzer Prize-winning story, the work focuses on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina at the Memorial Medical Center hospital, which went without electricity for days. Faced with this, the medical team, led by respected surgeon Anna Pou, was forced to make decisions that impacted them for years.
The adaptation is written, produced and directed by John Ridley (Oscar winner for “12 Years a Slave” screenplay) and Carlton Cuse (who previously worked with Vera Farmiga on the “Bates Motel” series).
The cast also features Robert Pine (“Jobs”), Cherry Jones (“24”), Julie Ann Emery (“Better Call Saul”), Cornelius Smith Jr. (“Scandal”), Adepero Oduye (“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier “), Molly Hager (” Happyish “), Michael Gaston (” The Leftovers “) and W. Earl Brown (” Preacher “).
The ABC Signature production, “Five Days at Memorial,” will premiere on August 12.
