Emmy Awards 2024: Rated more than 4/5, these two series dominated the ceremony

A week after the Golden Globes and the day after the Critics’ Choice Awards, part of the entertainment world gathered again to participate in the Emmy Awards. After the writers’ strike, the ceremony was postponed for several months.

Tonight could be a first: Bella Ramsey could become the youngest winner in the drama series category for The Last of Us, Jenna Ortega in the comedy category for Wednesday.

As for Pedro Pascal, if he won the statue, he would become the first Latino actor to win the award for best actor in a drama series.

But none of that happened, as it was the ceremony’s two most nominated series – namely The Bear and Succession – that won. The FX comedy and HBO drama series already pulled off the same heist at the Golden Globes a few days ago, leaving their competitors with just a few scraps.

The Brian Cox-led series about the dysfunctional Empire family will once again take all the honors after shining at the 2022 ceremony. The series, which ended in 2023 with a brilliant 4th season, will logically be the last in the competition. At this prestigious ceremony.

Among other performances that shone, we can mention the wonderful performance of the Netflix mini-series Acharnés (the original version of the cow), which received three top prizes, and the beautiful statuette won by Jennifer Coolidge for The White Lotus. If this satirical series about the rich deserved more, it can be proud of having at least one prize.
