Because of its incredible survival story and the extreme conditions in which it was filmed, Snow Circle is a phenomenon that continues to grow on Netflix.
Co-written and directed by Juan Antonio Bayona, this drama recalls the 1972 tragedy in the Andes. Among the film’s many qualities is its attention to detail.
The filmmaker worked directly with sixteen survivors to bring the feature film closer to reality. For example, a large part of the film was shot where the accident actually happened.
But there are also actors. The physical characteristics of the protagonists were carefully studied so that the performers resembled them.
On his X account (Twitter), Juan Antonio Bayona in particular shared a video comparing the victims of the plane crash to the actors of the movie. The result is amazing:

Most of the actors in the film are Argentinian and they take their first steps in the cinema with Snow Circle. In an interview with AlloCiné, Juan Antonio Bayona explained that they were very much surrounded by both trainers and nutritionists.
“We had a physical trainer train them so they could better endure the shoot, and we also had a psychologist on site“, he adds.
Each actor could relate to the real characters of the story. The filmmaker says that they all kept in touch during filming.
