Netflix continues to ride the success of One Piece. Eiichiro Oda’s manga, which later became an anime and has now become one of the best (if not the best) live-action in history, will return to streaming screens through a spin-off.
The platform launches the animation “Monsters: Curse of the Dragon” next Sunday (21st), a story that is part of the same universe as the charismatic Monkey D. Luffy.
You can check out the first trailer for the attraction below:
Monsters tells the origin story of Ryuma, a legendary swordsman who was initially just a samurai. As the title suggests, during his journey he will have to face a dragon.
Ryuma appears in the main series, One Piece, in the Thriller Bark story arc, as a zombie controlled by the villain Gekko Moriah.
Monsters was originally published by Eiichiro Oda in 1994, when the author was only 19 years old.
The information comes from Omelette.
The success of the live-action One Piece
And the second season?
Yes, we will have a second season! Production has already started, but there is no release date yet.
The success of the first was so sensational that the renewal was announced within a few days, in September last year, with an announcement on the official Netflix profile on X (formerly Twitter).
ONE PIECE HAS BEEN RENEWED!

Oda’s last sentence on the snail phone is as follows: “From now on, it looks like the Straw Hats will need a great doctor… We’ll see!”. And it shows a drawing of Chopper.
So get ready for the introduction of this powerful – and cute – reindeer who acts as a doctor to Luffy’s band of pirates.
In addition to Chopper, the second season of One Piece is expected to bring other characters, such as the villain Smoker, who appears in the post-credits scene of the first year.
He is a naval officer who works for the Straw Hats in the city of Loguetown. The series will then focus on the “Alabasta” saga.
Following Netflix’s release of the trailer for the anime “Monsters: The Dragon’s Curse,” a One Piece spin-off appeared for the first time on Olhar Digital.
