With the launch of the 27th edition of the Alpe d’Huez International Comedy Film Festival this Monday, January 15, the festivities can begin. Louise Bourgoin and Xavier Lacaille – revealed by the Parliament series on France.tv Slash – compete with Bis Repetita, the hugely successful comedy by Emilie Noblet, which makes its first feature film here.
For AlloCiné, the two actors shared some comedy tastes!
your favorite comedy
Louise Burgoyne: A Fish Named Wanda. I was very young, the first time I saw it, it shocked me. I love English humor and recommend it.
Xavier Lacaille: I would say Superbad by Greg Mottola, a very good coming of age comedy.
Your favorite comic book actor or actress?
Louise Burgoyne: Valerie Lemercier. I always find it incredible, especially in Les Visiteurs, which is one of my favorite French comedies, along with Santa Claus, of course, it’s rubbish. I heard on the set that he was 27 years old. He has maturity in the game! I recently saw an interview with him where he said that the director came to see him in the evening and told him that he was not funny! While for me he is one of the funniest comic characters in French cinema.
Xavier Lacaille: Steve Carell, who played, among other things, The Office and other great things, and he’s incredible. I dig everything she does!
Your favorite comic scene?
Xavier Lacaille: Without hesitation in the office exactly. A lot of the pre-credits are funny, but so is the return of Toby, who is Michael Scott’s worst enemy, played by Steve Carell. He is the HR manager and he hates her. He returns after a season in Costa Rica. Michael Scott’s colleagues ask him:Aren’t you going to ask Toby?Michael Scott refuses to believe it until he believes it and starts screaming:No! No! Nooooo!“This is the funniest thing. I don’t get enough.
Louise Burgoyne: I think Santa Claus is rubbish. The scene with the pharmacist as he tucks his nice white coat into the clog! And he says: “But is it stupid?“
Which movie makes you happy?
Xavier Lacaille: I still have to answer the office!
Louise Burgoyne: I have tanned people skiing while drinking!
What is French comedy?
Louise Burgoyne: When I got this Bis Repetita I thought of Justine Trietti’s Victoria because it’s really a very funny, intelligent comedy with a very beautiful female lead. I would say that!
Xavier Lacaille: For me, Les Beaux-gosses by Riad Sattouf. This is a comedy that blew me away. News that arrived on the then landscape with real madness.
The 27th edition of the Alpe d’Huez International Comedy Film Festival will be held from January 15 to 21.
