Striker Gilberto is close to leaving Cruzeiro. The Minas Gerais club is negotiating an amicable resolution with the athlete’s representatives, after all, the center forward is not part of Raposa’s plans. The officialization should be completed soon.
Gilberto has a contract until the end of 2024, but trains separately from the Cruzeiro squad. Journalists Antônio Neto and Samuel Venâncio initially provided information on the resolution.
The player arrived at Toca from Raposa at the beginning of last season, but did not establish himself. In total, he played 32 games, scored just six goals and provided just one assist. He was removed from the main group in October 2023.
Gilberto has not yet reached an agreement with any team, but has already received requests. Shimizu S-Pulse (JAP) has been searching for the attacker, but the conversations have not yet progressed. After leaving Cruzeiro, the situation could improve.
In addition to Cruzeiro, Gilberto has played for clubs such as Bahia, Internacional, Vasco, Sport and San Paolo. Outside Brazil, he also played for Al-Wasl (UAE), Toronto (CAN) and Chicago Fire (USA).
