Vasco will make his debut this Thursday, at 7.30pm (Brasilia time), in the Campeonato Carioca, against Boavista, in São Januário, to end an uncomfortable fast. The Cruzmaltina team hasn’t known what it means to win the tournament cup since 2016, the longest streak among the big teams in Rio de Janeiro.
The Carioca of seven years ago was the last achievement of the São Januário team. And despite the dream of becoming champions again, the team begins the tournament with an alternative team. The main team is in the pre-season, in Uruguay.
This same Thursday, the starters led by Ramón Díaz will face San Lorenzo-ARG, in a friendly match that will be played in Punta Del Este, at 10.15pm (Brasilia time). Meanwhile, in Rio de Janeiro, William Batista, coach of Vasco under 20, directs the duel against the Saquarema team.
Boavista tends to complicate Vasco lately. In the last five matches, the Vasco team has won two, including the last one, 4-1, against Carioca last year. There were three draws. The phase of difficult matches against the Saquarema team began in the 2021 State Championship, when the teams drew 2-2.

Even with an alternative team, Cruz-Maltino will have a decent audience in São Januário. More than 10,000 tickets have already been sold in advance. The guys will want to show off their serve this Thursday.
