your favorite comedy

Marilou Berry: Frankenstein Junior because it’s a classic. Gene Wilder, who is an unknown actor of this generation, is incredible. This movie is one of Mel Brooks best. There are so many classic scenes. This is a movie that influenced me as a child.

Your favorite comic book actor or actress?

Jim Carrey! For Ace Ventura, Liar Liar, but how can we not talk about The Truman Show or Man on the Moon, which are no longer comedies but remain great movies. I love you, too, Philip Morris.

But really speaking about comedy, I would say that Liar Liar is a lesson in acting for me. The script is rather mediocre, a bit new, but Jim Carrey turns it into something masterful.

Your favorite comic scene?

We were talking about Jim Carrey, so I would say when he comes out of the rhinoceros bullet hole in the jungle in Ace Ventura. The first time I saw it, I had this memory of crying with laughter!

A comedy you’d like to star in?

I would love to play Jim Carrey’s character in Liar Liar.

What is French comedy?

So I’m not saying this because my mother is (Josiane Balasco, editor’s note), but I’m torn between Les Bronzés sont du skiing or Santa Claus is rubbish. I was not born at that time. I know the Splendid team, but I haven’t been around them. For me, Santa Claus or Les Bronzés, I see them as average viewers. As for my mother’s films like My Life Is Hell or Gazon maudit, I look at them differently because I was on the set, but I wasn’t so lucky with those two.
