‘Footloose’ actress Lynne Marta dies at 78

Lynne Marta played Lulu Warnicker in the film that marked the 1980s

Lynne Martaactress known for Footloose – Crazy Rhythm (1984), passed away at the age of 78 last Thursday, the 11th. Chris Saint-Hillairefriend of Martha, confirmed the information to The Hollywood Reporter (via People) and revealed that she died of cancer in Los Angeles.

Born in New Jersey, the actress began her career as a dancer, but soon started making appearances in sitcoms, such as The Monkees It is Gidgetstill in 1966. The role in Footloose (1984), as Lulu Warnicker — alongside Kevin Bacon It is Sarah Jessica Parker — was one of the most memorable.

Martha never married, but had a relationship with David Soulactor with whom he starred in Starsky and Hutch – Double Justice. Soul died a week before the actress, on January 4th, as reported by People.

We lost a beautiful light today. My friend, Lynne Marta lost the battle. An incredibly talented actress and a beautiful singer, whose voice was like angels. A sweet heart who adored his human and furry friends. I will miss her very much.
