Netflix has put a budget into In Flight, its latest heist movie about an art thief who plans an impossible heist with his elite team: to steal half a billion dollars in gold aboard a plane in the sky.
If subscribers were somewhat disappointed with the proposal, this did not prevent the feature film from taking the first place in the weekly charts in several countries.
Venice and its historical sites
In full flight, it’s an international cast, a seasoned director and a $100 million budget that allowed crews to film in four corners of the globe. F. Gary Grey, Kevin Hart, Jean Reno and other cast members were also able to enjoy La Dolce Vita for a few weeks.

Was In Mid-Flight filmed in an actual airplane?
For the film, the design teams recreated the interior of the plane, from first class to economy class, including the cockpit operated by Ursula Corbero’s character.
The challenge of the exercise was creating a space large enough for the stunt coordinators to stage the fight scenes between the various characters and to place the cameras.
These studios were also used to recreate Cyrus’ (Hart) luxury apartment in which the team gathers to plan the heist.

After the Venice robbery, Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s character goes to find Cyrus at his flat in London. We find the gentleman robber in the middle of the promenade in the most original swimming pool that actually exists: it’s called the Sky Pool, it’s 25 meters long, it’s transparent, and it connects the two lanes of the building more than 30 meters above the ground. .
It is the only one of its kind. Unfortunately, it is only available to residents of two buildings…
