Vasco started the year bringing a lot of joy to its fans. After two consecutive victories, Cruz-Maltino takes to the field this Sunday (21st), again in a double dose, for the Campeonato Carioca and the Serie Río de la Plata, in Uruguay.
Vasco’s debut in 2024 took place against Boavista, in the first round of the Campeonato Carioca, in São Januário. With goals from Capasso and Leandrinho, in his first professional match, Cruz-Maltino won 2-0.
Hours later, Vasco fans were able to celebrate again. Vasco faced San Lorenzo, from Argentina, in the Serie Río de la Plata, and accumulated another victory that day. Léo scores the goal that guarantees the result for Cruz-Maltino and lifts the friendly trophy.
The duel against San Lorenzo also marked the team’s first pre-season test, characterized by the debut of the reinforcements. João Victor, Robert Rojas and David were named starters in the team led by Ramón Díaz.
Cruz-Maltino tries to repeat the feat this Sunday (21st). In the Carioca Championship Vasco will face Sampaio Corrêa. In the Serie Río de la Plata, they face Deportivo Maldonado, of Uruguay. Both games are at 8.30pm.
