Santos coach Fábio Carille is the subject of a complaint by V-Varen Nagasaki for breach of contract and the case goes to FIFA
Santos’ victory over Botafogo-SP on Saturday (21/1) guaranteed Peixe a positive debut in the Campeonato Paulista 2024, at the Santa Cruz stadium, in Ribeirão Preto. But, behind the scenes, an issue involving coach Fábio Carille attracts curiosity. The fact is that, despite him returning to the club, he was still linked to V-Varen Nagasaki, Japan, and so the case ended up with FIFA.
Carille, however, preferred not to discuss and said that his focus is on coaching the team.
“This (the judicial scam) doesn’t worry me. I follow it from afar. I don’t know when, but it will be resolved,” he said, referring to Santos managers, lawyers and agents.
Legal battle between Santos and V-Varen
V-Varen Nagasaki claims that a contract renewal is underway with Carille and that, therefore, the coach could not leave the club. Santos claims that V-Varen did not yet have his renewal card on December 3, when Santos signed an agreement with the coach. Since Carille’s previous contract with the Japanese expired on December 31, Santos considers him free from 1/1/2024.
Peixe even announced Carille’s return on 12/19 and presented him the next day. Therefore, a legal battle must generate some excitement for a certain period of time. After all, V-Varen has already made it clear that he will not release the coach amicably. And, on the other hand, Santos understands that the Japanese club no longer has rights over the coach.
On the pitch, Fábio Carille made the right decisions
On the pitch, Santos was counting on a great goal from Otero to secure a narrow 1-0 victory. Despite some shortcomings in defence, Peixe performed well. This is how Giuliano, the great creator of the team, distinguished himself; goalkeeper João Paulo, who made key saves for the favorable result; and Otero, who reached the final stage in place of Pedrinho, had a star and even celebrated doubly. Moreover, the 31-year-old Venezuelan, who arrived at Santos on 1/11 to make the team more offensive, will be the father of twins.
Fábio Carille started off on the right foot, making two important decisions. First of all, he gave freedom to Giuliano, who made the difference in the match. They also adopted the tactic of looking for play on the flanks, a tactic that proved to be correct.
