Will Tony DiNozzo be back on NCIS soon? At least that’s what his translator Michael Weatherly suggests. The actor, who last appeared on the detective series in May 2016 at the end of season 13, revealed to fans that he would like to reprise the role.

It was on X (formerly Twitter) that Michael Weatherly made this announcement, which will make fans happy. When asked which character he would prefer to play between DiNozzo and Bull, the actor replied that he “There will be more dinozo soon as he is the only character I feel like unfinished business with… that’s my plan! You will see…”

In May 2016, at the end of season 13, the character said goodbye to NCIS. Tony learns of the death of Ziva (Cote de Pablo), who was killed in an explosion on David’s family farm.
It was at this point that he discovered the existence of Tali, the young girl Ziva had fathered several years before. DiNozzo then announced that he wanted to leave NCIS to take care of his daughter.
A few years later, in the season 16 finale, viewers learned that the character played by Cote de Pablo was actually alive (but on the run) and that she was going to reconnect with her daughter’s father.
On DiNozzo and Ziva to a series?
If Michael Weatherly is ready to continue his role to continue the adventures of DiNozzo in NCIS, there is no guarantee that the actor will be in the 21st season of the detective series, which will begin broadcasting in the United States on February 12.
