This Monday (22), Coritiba hosted São Joseense at Couto Pereira and won 2-0, with goals from Thalisson Gabriel and Robson. The victory came after a hotter and stronger second half from Coxa, who scored a brace in the air to stay 100% in Paranaense.

In the press conference, Guto recognized the importance of using the base in the match, where Coxa had Couto’s seven Piás on the pitch, but also called for better treatment from the Alviverde fans who questioned Couto’s performances Edu and Fransérgio and they always took it out on each other Natanaele.

“We had seven Piás do Couto on the pitch today, they responded in training and were fundamental in the project. This project also involves the recovery of athletes who did not do well last year, but we know their potential. I know it is difficult , but the fans must support and not judge during the match, they don’t come every day, and I’m sure that human beings grow with encouragement. It’s very easy to criticize on social media, why not try to praise?”

Regarding the victory, Guto commented on all the most evident points of Coritiba’s improvement on the pitch and made it clear that things could have gone even better.

“I think quality and work will always resolve the issue. Today we played better with the ball and created many scoring chances, even though the pitch was terrible. We scored on a dead ball, which shows the work. When we had the ball and we arrived in the opponent’s field, we managed to have more precision to annoy and finish, unfortunately we didn’t score more goals.”

With the arrival of Matheus Dias, just 16 years old, Guto, who sees great importance in the base, commented on his thoughts on the use of this type of player given that Coritiba will have to face a long series of matches at the start of the season and will have need to rotate the starting team.

“Everything is a process, if I feel he will contribute to that match from the start, he will come in and I’m not afraid to do it. Every moment is a moment, it all depends on how the match unfolds. What’s important is that they worked and product.”

Coritiba returns to the pitch on Thursday (25th), against Londrina, at the Estádio do Café, at 8.30pm, in a match valid for the 2nd round of Paranaense. Coxa remains at 100%, with six points, and occupies 2nd position.
