A Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced, this Tuesday (23), the nominees for the 96th edition of Oscar. As usual, not everyone managed to be nominated and prominent productions in the last year ended up completely off the list of competitors or did not appear in categories in which they were expected. Super Mario Bros. The film
Despite being one of the biggest box office successes last year – coming in 2nd place with US$1.3 billion raised, behind only Barbie -, Super Mario Bros. The film did not convince Oscar voters and the adaptation of the successful video games was left out of the 2024 Oscars.
