Netflix has confirmed that it is in talks with a number of potential partners, with the aim of entering the advertising market, potentially creating its own advertising business in the future.
The event was confirmed by company co-executive director Ted Sarandos at an industry conference, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Netflix had already said in the past few months that it was exploring an ad-funded version of its platform, and now it has taken that one step further, exploring partners to make plans a reality.
