In the story, two childhood friends are separated when Daughter in law (Greta Lee, Russian doll) moves to the United States as a teenager and Hae Sung (Teo Yoo, Decision to Leave) remains in South Korea. Years later, they meet again via the internet.
She lives in New York and is married, while he went to the army and, upon returning, began to live a less adventurous life. The reunion awakens old feelings and Hae Sungthen, decides to travel to New York and meet her old friend in person.
Very well received by international critics, A24’s production received nominations for the Best Film and Best Original Screenplay categories at the 96th edition of the Oscars, which takes place in March, but was also highlighted at the Critics Choice Awards and the Golden Globes, in addition to the traditional Sundance Film Festival.
