Recruited at the beginning of C’s second seasoncriminal mind (fiction name in the original version) In 2006, he was fired at the end of the 5th season. In fact, CBS (which offered the cop show across the Atlantic) was behind the scenes expressing a desire to recast the female part. To get rid of the feature actors and therefore Paige Brewster…also AJ Cook (Jay)!
It was officially stated that these departures were due to budget cuts… but in an interview AvClubPaige Brewster recalls: Called Edward Allen Bernero and said, “I want new women.”“Charming!

Emily Prentice, iconic character from “Criminal Minds”
Thus, the main interested party got a “break” of sorts in the Criminal Minds cast… to finally land a contract to recur in Season 7! Padgett Brewster, genuinely attached to his on-set teams, allowed himself to be convinced afterward.
However, at the end of the seventh round of these episodes, Paget Brewster chose this time to leave fiction for good. However, this did not prevent the latter from reprising the role of Emily in season 9, during the 200th episode of Criminal Minds.
But that’s not all, as Padgett Brewster also made a notable return in Season 11, in an episode marked by the final departure of Morgan and his interpreter, Shemar Moore (now a SWAT headliner whose Season 7 is going to be explosive!).
As a final change, Paige Brewster returned to the recurring cast of Criminal Minds from the beginning of season 12 until the end of the series’ run on CBS with season 15 in 2020. The star then re-engaged for a 16th season, launched in late 2022 in the US on the Paramount+ platform and is currently programmed in France by TF1, every Wednesday from 21:10.
