Anatomy of a Fall, nominated for an Oscar, opens in Brazilian cinemas

Nominated in five categories at the 2024 Oscars, including Best Film and Best Director for Justine Triet, Anatomy of a Fallwinner of the Palme d’Or at the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival last year, premieres in Brazilian cinemas starting this Thursday, January 25th.

Starring German actress Sandra Hüller (The Faces of Toni Erdmann, The Ideal Man), the film tells the story of a writer suspected of having killed her own husband. She goes to trial and the only witness is the couple’s son, who tries to recover memories of the tragedy. Watch the trailer:

Previously scheduled to premiere only on February 22, the release of the film was brought forward by Diamond Films Brasil amid expectations for the announcement of the nominees for the 96th edition of the biggest cinema award, in which Anatomy of a Fallalso appeared in the Best Actress categories for HüllerBest Original Screenplay for Justine Triet It is Arthur Harariand Best Editing.
